Somatic Film & Collage
Come join us for a hands-on workshop exploring the connection between the body and filmmaking through collage art!
As part of Lewisham Arthouse's Graduate Program we are thrilled host:
Collaging the Body: Somatic Filmmaking and Collage,
on Saturday the 21st of June!
Embody your cinematic vision through the tactile art of collage!
This half-day, immersive workshop at Lewisham Arthouse invites participants to explore filmmaking through bodily awareness and physical engagement, using collage as a technique to develop somatic film scenarios. Cut, splice, and layer found images to move beyond cerebral creation into an embodied artistic process where intuition, breath, and movement guide your cinematic expression.
Join filmmaker indexthumb for this four-hour workshop of screenings, discussion, movement and crafting, with collages by artist Vivienne Le. A public screening of curated somatic films will follow the workshop.
Prior filmmaking experience is not necessary, although participants are recommended to have a connection with movement and the dancing body.
