Being Seen : In Art and Words

Testimonies of Growth and Recovery

13 th November – 23 rd November

A thought-provoking exhibition inspired by testimonies of growth and personal recovery from trauma. The exhibition showcases paintings developed over seven years, each inspired by conversations with trauma survivors. The works explore hidden pain and transformative recovery, offering deeply human portraits of courage and renewal. Alongside the paintings each piece is accompanied by the participant’s own narrative as well as poetry and personal testimony recorded at public events. Over the past 7 years Andy’s work has been supported by the Institute of Mental Health, With-you, DayOne Trauma support, MIND, Arts Council England and others. The exhibition highlights how being seen, and sharing vulnerability can foster healing, resilience and connection. Andy’s vision is to spark empathy and understanding, presenting trauma not only as suffering but also as a catalyst for growth.
